Job
seekers can use occupation titles to identify their current or most
recent job title held as well as what they want in the jobs to be searched.
To make searching easier, Occupation titles are organized in the form
of a multi-level tree. Limitations of "Occupation
Titles": As Job Titles become
less meaningful and vague, it is becoming increasingly difficult for
Job seekers to find jobs or Employers to find candidates solely on the
basis of matching occupation titles. Job titles can only convey
the expertise or functions accurately if they represent "stereotype"
roles or well known titles such as Electrician, Carpenter Film Director,
Pilot etc. For this reason, the JOBSAtAnytime+
program ALSO uses "Functional Areas" and "key skills" for mapping expertise
and conducting searches. You could use key skills in conjunction with occupation titles or even drop occupation titles where they are not meaningful. Read an article about occupation titles. | |
